Today’s Family, in our culture, is the most unstable,
most diverse, most confounding…
Our Research tells us it’s the biggest unsolved problem…
It is a patchwork, a crazy quilt of confusing configurations…
Stepfamilies don’t blend, they collide!
Managing a stepfamily as if it were a biological family
Is like trying to play chess using the rules of checkers.
Stepfamilies are not only that much more complex ---
They are just plain different.

It has become evident in seeing your work that the disintegration of the American society relates directly to divorce and divorce relates directly to step relationships. All of this severely impacts the children of society….The Stepfamily Foundation is meeting a vital need in a vital area… Daniel Patrick Moynihan, United States Senator, NY
To be a stepchild was once built into the language and culture as pejorative….I am happy that Jeannette Lofas Ph. D., Westbrook University and her associates of the Stepfamily Foundation have made it their cause to extricate it from that fate….They have placed us all in their debt…. Max Lerner, Columnist, The New York Post
Personally, and as a member of the Select Committee on Children, Youth and Families in the House of Representatives, I believe that the work of the Stepfamily Foundation….has pioneered a vital issue which confronts American society. I am especially interested in the solutions the Foundation has created for individuals living in step relationships….I will do all I can see that this important information is as widely disseminated as it needs to be. Hamilton Fish, Jr., Member of Congress

None of the other counselors have been able to help me STEP BY STEP with what to do with my boys. Our relationship is 150% better since our work with Stepfamily Foundation has begun.
I have a much better understanding of step….the fact that there is hope….I’ve stopped feeling alone. It’s comforting to know that my feelings are normal. Elizabeth Conrad, New York, NY 2002
After only a few short sessions, we have learned more and accomplished more than we have with any other professional we have seen. Joseph Rosen, Sarasota, FL 2000
It didn’t feel like we needed psychiatric help. The Foundation’s system of educational counseling fits our needs….They made our marriage work. Ellen and Donald Kerry, Nevada City, CA 1997
I cannot believe how bad it was….and how good it is now. We could communicate over everything BUT the children. We were guided, and we are still learning. Those first years were a nightmare. Where were you? Daphnie and Scott Briarton, Southampton, NY 1995

Left message on Foundation machine;
I would like to remain on the Stepfamily Foundation website. I took your Professional Seminar in the early 1990’s. It continues to be very enriching for me. I’m utilizing the tools and materials I learned then, to this day, with many of the families I see.
Linda Watkins of Fort Hood Texas said, This seminar was great! I find the Stepfamily Foundation model more effective for dealing with stepfamilies than any other work I’ve studied.
Jackie Yudelowitz, LCSW-R, ACSW said, The Stepfamily Foundation genogram is the most valuable tool I have ever learned. I use it for all modalities, not just stepfamily counseling. I look forward to the Master Level seminar!
And Roger Frampton of Canada said,What a great amount of materials and experience!
